IRONBOUND NJ TRADES

Preserving Northern New Jersey’s Industrial Heritage.

THE COLLECTION

Ironbound NJ Trades is a museum-inspired collection dedicated to the workers, industries, and communities that helped build Northern New Jersey. Drawing inspiration from historic trade signage, industrial illustration, manufacturing heritage, rail systems, machine shops, and factory culture, each work transforms the region’s industrial history into large-format visual artifacts designed to educate, inspire curiosity, and preserve knowledge.

The collection explores the relationship between labor and progress through original artwork that combines industrial history, skilled craftsmanship, transportation networks, and engraved trade design. Rather than functioning as simple historical illustrations, these pieces serve as contemporary archive works that celebrate the workers, tools, industries, and infrastructure that shaped the region.

From steelworkers, machinists, foundry crews, and textile laborers to railroads, bridges, shipyards, warehouses, and manufacturing plants, each subject is selected for its historical significance and place within the broader story of Northern New Jersey. Every artwork contributes to a growing archive dedicated to labor history, education, preservation, and industrial heritage.

By combining the visual language of historic trade graphics with contemporary museum-scale presentation, the collection creates lasting records that honor the workers, industries, and infrastructure that built Northern New Jersey.
